Description
Set against the backdrop of World War II, Back to Front follows the adventures of several families and individuals whose lives are turned upside-down (and back to front!) by a series of amusing and terrifying events.
This musical play was first staged at The Gardner Arts Centre in Brighton in the summer of 2002 with a huge cast of over 250. With plenty of ensemble numbers and no fewer than 30 individual speaking parts, it offers enormous potential for schools and dramatic companies with plenty of actors at their disposal. However, many of the parts could be “doubled”, so companies wanting to stage the piece with a smaller cast size will be able to do so quite easily.
Minimum cast size: This show works really well with a large cast and is therefore ideal for amateur companies and schools. There are 30 individual speaking /singing parts (15 adults and 15 children) and plenty of ensemble opportunities for both adults and children.
Number of individual speaking parts: 30
Suitable for: Professional Companies; Amateur Companies; Schools
Running time: Approx. 1 hour 50 minutes
